Often, I notice typos after posting a bug which slipped through the in-browser spell check because they're not misspellings, but incorrect word choice. (eg. Writing "PRIMARY vs. SELECTION" when I meant "PRIMARY vs. CLIPBOARD" while talking about X11 copy and paste.)

Please consider offering a means to address these situations without flooding subscribers with e-mail notifications.

Example ideas include:

  • A 5-minute edit window, as a middle-ground between the perpetual editability of GitHub-like bug trackers and Bugzilla's current state. (Possibly activated by an "I'm prone to typos. Please defer notification of my posts by 5 minutes." checkbox in the user settings.)
  • Some kind of "This is a trivial correction." checkbox on the form which either prevents e-mail from going out or defers it until it either converts the next message into a mini-digest or some waiting period runs out (eg. 1 hour).
