User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:99.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/99.0
Steps to reproduce:
V menu nástroje
V nastavení,
v Soubory a aplikace

Maybe this was filed as a security bug because of the screensheet? I've now hidden the screen shot. Via google translate, it appears that this is about the behavior of file handlers for downloaded files or whatever.

Moving to untriaged, as it doesn't seem to be a bug related to Czech localization.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::PDF Viewer' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Thanks to google translate:
In the tools menu
In settings,
v Files and applications
v Applications - what Firefox has to do with downloaded files or with the applications you use in browsing.
Here I only have files with extension av1, WedP, pdf, xml, svg.
Sometimes a lot of extensions disappeared during the updates. Everything in the attachment.
This makes it difficult for me to view attachments from my email.
Please correct it.
Thank you
Sincerely, T. Havliš
Expected results:
Earlier, if I clicked on an email attachment with an extension such as avi, a question popped up and what was set happened. Now I have no way to influence this, because the extensions have disappeared from the settings.

It's unclear to me why any file extensions have disappeared. We have a migration process as part of Firefox 98 of some of those preferences, but they should not have caused the items to disappear entirely from the list. Unless you have back-ups of your Firefox profile from before it would be hard to understand why they disappeared. If you have backups, if you could share the handlers.json file from before the migration, that could help narrow down what happened.
In terms of how to address it at this point: You can right click a downloaded file in the Firefox downloads panel or the Library's download history, and then click "always open similar files". That will cause it to show up in the list in the Firefox settings. You can then adjust to "always ask" or select a custom application, if you wish. Can you check if this works for you?
If you want the default to be to show a dialog, where you can then adjust the default for that filetype, that is covered by bug 1747343 and will be available in Firefox 101, to be released in May.
Hello
I don't do backups.
I have applied the suggested procedure and it works.
I am sending the proof below.
With this procedure I managed to add the missing MP4 extension.
Thank you very much

Apologies again for the trouble, and I'm glad these steps worked for you. I'll close this as without backups it's unlikely we can get to the bottom of why items would have disappeared.
