Steps to reproduce:
Using Firefox 99.0 on Linux, Fedora release 34, x86_64
1.) Open the setting in Firefox
2.) Choose for PDF-Files an external viewer link Okular or XPDF
3.) Open/Download a PDF from a url.
Actual results:
The working part:
- The PDF is viewed in the chosen viewer.
The not correctly working part:
- The "temporary" PDF is stored in /home/$USER/
- Firefox doesn't remove the temporary file
Expected results:
The temporary file should be stored in a sub-directory of /tmp/ or /var/tmp/
Used to work in former FF versions.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::PDF Viewer' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

This is the PDF-specific part of bug 1738574. We are likely to reconsider that bug "soon", so please don't be discouraged by the fact that it is currently closed.
