Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:99.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/99.0

Steps to reproduce:

I updated Kubuntu 20.04.4 to 22.04. During the update, Firefox was installed as snap package which is, as I understand, the standard way for the current (K)ubuntu release. All connections for firefox in snap are enabled.

Actual results:

I cannot set Firefox as the standard browser from the Firefox settings (no response to this action at all)

Expected results:

Firefox should have been set to be the default system's browser

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Widget: Gtk
Product: Firefox → Core

This is a bug in xdg-settings that affects Kubuntu (or any other desktop running KDE), not in Firefox itself.
