Ubuntu 22.04 Firefox does not download file to Desktop

Steps to reproduce:
Installed Ubuntu 22.04.
Download a file to the Desktop.
Actual results:
File is not downloaded to Desktop but is missing.
Expected results:
Downloaded file should be on the Desktop.

Do you use the Firefox package provided to you by Ubuntu? If so then you should report this to Ubuntu.

Ubuntu 22.04 only has Snap version of Firefox.

Widget:GTK is not perfect for this but it's better than untriaged. But yeah: this is a Snap/Ubuntu bug, not a Firefox issue, I suspect.

Adriaan, on a recent Ubuntu I can safely save to desktop, can you verify on your side ?
