Steps to reproduce:

According to https://support.mozilla.org/mk/questions/1262073 firefox should only unload tabs when there is a low memory condition (<400MB is mentioned). I don't know if this has changed in the past years, but imo it doesn't matter what the threshold is.

In my case, about 16GB of my 32GB are used, and Firefox still unloads pretty much all tabs that aren't used for a certain amount of time.

Worse yet, in one of the tabs I had a submission form with a lot of text in every field, and when I came back to that tab just a day later, the page (re)loaded, and ALL entered text had disappeared.

Even when Firefox is closed unexpectedly and re-opened (choose to recover tabs) then the entered text is still there. So Firefox evidently does have a mechanism to store entered data, yet the tab unloading feature doesn't utilize that.

Hi, tab unloading has been turned off as of bug 1780058. Some cache systems cause a misreport of available memory in /proc/meminfo, so until we can roll out version specific solutions we will keep tab unloading pref off.

I was also able to reproduce this issue by manually unloading that tab from about:unloads, the page I used was also https://www.oceaninsight.com/contact-us/quote-request/ and the text added in those fields is discarded.
