User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Fedora; Linux x86_64; rv:100.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/100.0

Steps to reproduce:

My settings should block videos and audio autoplay.

  1. Take a page with videos
  2. While the page is loading click anywhere in the page (left or right mouse button)

You can try this with Twitch, YouTube, for what I have seen anywhere with videos.

Actual results:

Videos won't be blocked.

Expected results:

Videos should still be blocked, or I think they should, if I'm wrong tell me.
You can load the page and see the videos be blocked, then reload and click anywhere and see they don't.

Component: Untriaged → Audio/Video: Playback
Product: Firefox → Core

My settings should block videos and audio autoplay.

What settings? Can you post your about:support text?

Firefox's settings, the autoplay ones.
I have attached the about:support.
I have tried it also with a clean Firefox installation.
Please try it also yourself, is not difficult: just click once with your mouse in the page while the page is loading.

I have noticed that also pressing pretty much any key on the keyboard will trigger this (esc, alt, shift... "function keys in general" do not trigger this).

Blocks: media-triage

This is desired behavior. we have some prefs than can control better if you like.

No longer blocks: media-triage
