User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20020823 Netscape/7.0 Build Identifier: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.1/mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu-1.1-sea.tar.gz when mozilla crashes, the error message appearing in the console is : Error occurred during initialization of VM java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: unable to create new native thread INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Could not read ack from browser System error?:: Resource temporarily unavailable I use the Sun's Java run-time Env 4.1 and link the library j2re1.4.1_01/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so of the latter in the subdirectory plugins of Mozilla The same problem occurs when using Netscape 7 with its default java plugin plugins/java2/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so built from j2re1.3 if i remember well. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.enable java 2.go to any web page calling java applets 3. Actual Results: Mozilla crashes Expected Results: run the applets using the JVM Linux redhat 7.1 2.2.16-22 Browser Mozilla 1.1 Java run-time env : j2re1.4.1_01

can you try again using latest 1.2 build ? http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/latest-1.2 Do you crash when removing JRE 1.3.x ?

Reporter can you reproduce this bug with a newer build (1.4 final) and newer Java Versions (1.4.2)? (Also have you symlinked the java library?) If not, then please close this bug as worksforme. Thanks.
I got the crash in the java vm loading process with: http://adsl.internode.on.net/speedtest/ http://www.unitedlinux.com/ Mozilla 1.5b Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i586; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030908 java version "1.4.2" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2-b28) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2-b28, mixed mode)
