User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:100.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/100.0

Steps to reproduce:

  • Have two screens.
  • Open Thunderbird and have it running on the second screen
  • Doubleclick on an event in the calendar view

Actual results:

The popup with event details is opened on the first screen, clicking "edit" once again opens the tab in thunderbird on the second screen.

Expected results:

If at all a "view without editing" is necessary (see bug 1685007) it should be a tab or that popup should at least open on the (current) screen where thunderbird is located.

Thanks s.grossberndt. "Opens on the wrong screen" does happen, that's the unfinished part of bug 1652290, which was declared done per Bug 1652290 Comment 42 by attributing the problem to the platform (Firefox/Toolkit).

Looks like reporter has set ≡ > Preferences > Calendar > [x] Edit events and task in a tab..., but it won't avoid the intermediate dialog, only editing will be in a tab. I think that pref should be honored for the intermediate dialog, too. Will morph your summary slightly to make this actionable.
