User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:102.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/102.0
Steps to reproduce:
Middle-click bookmark in bookmarks bar while the "When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately" settings is set to off.
The behavior also replicates when you right click and select "Open in New Tab"
(manually dragging the bookmark to the tabs bar works as normal.)
Actual results:
Bookmark switched to new tab immediately.
Expected results:
Bookmark opened in new tab, and do not switch to it, per the user settings.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Bookmarks & History' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hi,
I believe the "When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately" settings does not include the bookmarked links so enabling or disabling it won't change anything for that.
I will set this as an enhancement to get it checked out by the development team.

Yes, the preferences are separate and the one in the preferences ui only refers to the browser links, not bookmarks.
The bookmarks pref is browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground in about:config
There's already a bug about unifying the 2 preferences under a single one.
