177495 - Downloading from mozilla 1.2b impossible

Every time I tried to download either a document (pdf) or a file (zip, exe,
tgz), I was replied by the browser a message like the following:

C:\DOCUME~1\PATRIC~1.PC-\LOCALS~1\TEMP\c0gm132s.exe could not be saved, because
the source file could not be read.

This occured on windows 2000 WS, and on windows 98 SE; it appears spécific to
version 1.2b, since returning to version 1.1 restored a normal behavior of the
download manager.
