Steps to reproduce:

I opened a video on youtube on the 1st screen and then after some time (~30 secs) i clicked on the 2nd screen which lead to the video lagging and then after a couple of seconds it starting playing normally again. But when i clicked on the 3rd screen, it lagged again. When switching screens fast enough (~1 sec per switch) the video doesn't play at all. The audio playback on the other hand works just fine.

Actual results:

The video started lagging after the described actions.

Expected results:

The video playback should work just fine.

If you could reproduce the scenario you describe, specifically capturing the video not playing back at the correct frame rate, or alternatively switching screens fast enough so that it doesn't play (or both, you can send multiple profiles), we'll have a look.

From gecko profiler data, Renderer thread seemed not blocked when the problem happened. I wonder if the following things might happen.

• [1] VSync was not triggered during clicking other displays
• [2] OS level did not update WebRender rendering during clicking other displays

Hi Hannes, can you check if the problem happens with pref widget.wayland_vsync.enabled=false?
It could be set from about:config. And the change needs to restart Firefox. Thank you.

Alright, i can do that.
First of all i wanted to provide you with some additional new information:

• the hanging also happens if i just watch the video without doing any additional stuff
• the hanging doesn't happen anymore after disabling hardware decoding

Should i reenable hardware encoding before trying to disable vsync?

• the hanging doesn't happen anymore after disabling hardware decoding

From it, hardware decoder/hardware decoder handling might have a problem.
