User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 Was working correctly till Mozilla/1.2a; stopped when I moved to 1.2b. Same URL works correctly with IE. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. I have a local URL on the intranet - something like "http://machine/try.xls". Someone sent me this URL in a mail. I open the mail in Outlook, click on the link. Mozilla is default HTTP handler - starts downloading the file - then gives the message: a) Message window title: "Downloading C:\MANOJD\TMPDIR\oudb8m40.xls" b) Message contents: "C:\MANOJD\TMPDIR\oudb8m40.xls could not be saved, because the source file could not be read. Try again later, or contact the server administrator." 2. Note that the URL is fine - only Mozilla is not able to retrieve it or so it reports. IE can pick up the same URL successfully. 3. Same problem when picking up zip files via HTTP too. But not with files Mozilla can natively load - like HTMLs.

Fixed for me - after applying the hack suggested by comment#1. Thanks Matti.
