The failures are all of this assertion in helper_hittest_basic.html.

I will investigate.

I wonder if this is bug 1737725 flaring up again; I believe the symptoms are consistent with the diagnosis in bug 1737725.

Confirmed that the underlying issue is bug 1737725. We have a fairly detailed plan for how to fix that outlined; I'm going to prioritize implementing that fix.

Depends on: 1737725

There have been 37 total failures in the last 7 days, recent failure log.
Affected platforms are:

  • linux1804-64-qr
  • linux1804-64-shippable-qr
  • macosx1015-64-qr
  • windows10-64-2004-qr
  • windows11-32-2009-qr
  • windows11-64-2009-qr

Just posted a patch for bug 1737725 which I'm expecting will address this.

(In reply to Botond Ballo [:botond] from comment #39)

The failures are all of this assertion in helper_hittest_basic.html.

Update: bug 1737725 has indeed fixed the failures in helper_hittest_basic.html, and reduced the failure rate of the test overall, but we are still seeing failures at a lower rate, which are now in different subtests.

The failures are spread out among the following subtests:

  • helper_hittest_nested_transforms
  • helper_hittest_float_bug1443518
  • helper_hittest_float_bug1434846
  • helper_hittest_sticky_bug1478304

In each case the failing assertion is "Expected at least one hit result in the APZTestData", leading me to suspect that they have a common root cause. Given the aggregate failure rate is still 20/week, I'm going to keep myself assigned here, and continue to investigate this additional issue.
