Version 102 for Linux. Click an image on a website. Right click to save as or open in new tab and save as. The save screen comes up. Why do you have to . click on the title bar to get the focus to change so that the file can be renamed? This is a new one.

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:102.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/102.0

Steps to reproduce:

Version 102 for Linux. Click an image on a website. Right click to save as or open in new tab and save as.

Actual results:

The save screen pops up but the focus is not on the file name. We're saving as, not the website file name but one you want to give it.

Expected results:

the focus should be on the file name

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Widget: Gtk
Product: Firefox → Core

Additional information. OS is Ubuntu 22.04 Mate. The first time the operation is performed, not a problem. However any time after that, the focus is not on the file name.

Along these same lines: It used to be that you could drag and drop a picture from Ebay or Amazon or wherever to your desktop. Now you get a link to it. Gee thanks.

Guys you really need to stop this sort of thing. At a minimum, include a read me with instructions on how to undo it if you don't want it to function that way. This is not some artistic whatever. It's an internet interface tool and should be treated as such. Now please tell me how to undo this link business back to drag and drop. Thank you.

This email just showed up a couple of days ago??!! However, sorry about the flame. Turns out that the focus issue is a Linux bug.

If that's still the case for you, it's a bug of your desktop environment, not a Firefox bug.
On Gnome it behaves as expected.
