User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:101.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/101.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Open a session on Windows 10 Home Edition (use Run > Winver.exe to check edition).
- Launch Firefox and go to https://en.metapedia.org/wiki/User:Upplysning or any other web page whose title contains a colon (:)
- Drag and Drop the lock icon in the address bar to any Windows Explorer window in order to create a bookmark in the target directory
Actual results:
FF creates an empty file. Its name is often truncated.
Notes
- I used Windows Home Edition, v. 21H1
- bug absent on Windows 10 Professional Edition
- make sure the target directory is on NTFS volume (hard disk for instance)
- probably due to the fact that the colon is not allowed in filenames, bug may be present for other disallowed characters
Expected results:
Same behavior as on Windows 10 Professional Edition
