User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:102.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/102.0

Steps to reproduce:

Opened the Recent Updates pane via the utils button, after a recent update of Firefox.

Actual results:

Saw a long list (3 screenfuls) of language packs, followed by one extension that I had installed.

Expected results:

Only the extension should have been displayed, and all built-in components should be hidden. The language packs weren't installed by me, I don't use them and don't care about them.
This issue is happening after each update: the "Recent updates" list is drowned by language packs and I have to scroll to the end of the list to obtain the actual information that I care about.

Hello,

I am not able to reproduce this issue . I can see only my recent updates in Recent Updates. Can you please check if this issue is still reproducible on a new profile where you updated some addons or if you manually delete your lang packs in about:addons and update the Firefox? I am trying to figure out how to reproduce this bug in order to mark it accordingly.

Thank you

We display langpacks as visible to the user, so updates to those langpacks should also be visible.

Why should they be visible ? They're not installed by the user, only at most one of them is used at any time and AFAIK they never get updated out-of-band. Their presence in the list is only following an update. They clutter the list with no usefulness.

Stelian, what platform are are running on? It says Linux in the initial bug post.

Hi Shane, I'm using Linux (openSUSE Leap) and Firefox is installed from one of their repositories.

The language packs weren't installed by me, I don't use them and don't care about them.

Have you tried uninstalling these?
I'm not familiar with OpenSUSE, but it looks like they're bundling all locales at once, judging by the sources (e.g. create-tar.sh) at https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE%3AFactory/MozillaFirefox
