Details

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Ensure that in "Konten-Einstellungen, Ende-zu-Ende-Verschlüsselung" ("Account-Preferences, End-to-End Encryption" in english I assume) are both S/MIME fields are filled out (with certificates)
  2. Open address book
  3. Right mouse click on a contact with email address and choose "Nachricht verfassen" ("Compose message" in english I assume)

Actual results:

The To: field in compose window is empty

Expected results:

The To: field in compose window should be filled out with choosed email address.

Summary: Address book ... compose email: email address in To: is missing if S/MIME fields are filled out in prefs → `Write` from AB contact's context does not fill To: field if S/MIME personal certificate fields are filled out in sender's account prefs
Summary: `Write` from AB contact's context does not fill To: field if S/MIME personal certificate fields are filled out in sender's account prefs → `Write` from AB contact's context does not fill To: field if S/MIME personal certificates are used for signing/encryption

Thanks alpengreis for letting us know.

STR

  1. Set personal certificates for S/Mime under ≡ > Account Settings > YourAccount > E2EE:
  • Personal certificate for digital signing - select one
  • Personal certificate for encryption - select one
  1. Ensure that this identity is your default identity for composing (important).
  2. Open TB Address Book
  3. Right-click on contact > Write from context menu

Actual result

  • new composition opens, but To field is blank - no recipient pre-filled

Expected

  • new composition opens with To recipient pre-filled with the contact's default address

Thomas, this might be a duplicate of bug 1774991.

@Kai

I don't think that's a duplicate because it works here with defined OpenPGP.

PS: It works even too if only the first S/MIME field is defined.
