When we customize Firefox, there is a toolbar button named "Add-ons and themes" that opens about:addons.

We introduced a pref to enable a new "unified extensions button" in Bug 1777481. When this pref is set, it shouldn't be possible to use the "Add-ons and themes" toolbar button.
