Steps to reproduce:

I am downloading a file and browsing at a same time.

Actual results:

The browser is freezed , that time the downloading file was stopped downloading instead of pausing the download. So i had to download the again.

Expected results:

The download should be paused

Is this happening with a specific link or download that we could test?

Just to better understand, did you browser crash completely, and on restart your download had to be restarted from scratch?
Do you have any crash reports in about:crashes that you may share with us?
