The current icons are placeholders, as far as I know, hence we should probably replace them with "proper" ones before doing this?

Yep, they are, but given that it is only Nightly and early Beta, it's fine to use them until we have a proper replacement (it is expected for UI to change for WIP features over the course of Nightly and Beta).
