Hello Ron, pls provide more detail.
- Which exact version of TB?
≡ > Help > About Thunderbird
- POP or IMAP account?
- If IMAP, what options for deleting are set?
- STR/Actual result: So you got the compact folder prompt after deleting first message. What did you do with the prompt? Compact or cancel?
- "with same number of bytes" - pls explain - did you delete other messages? Were you expecting the number of bytes to change? (not mentioned in Expected results)
We have a number of compact issues on record.
Any of those match yours?

Sort by ID to see newest first.
You can remove the word 'delet' from that search to see all compact issues.
POP
102.0.2
No compact folder prompt - just a message that inbox was compacted - no user input was required
Number of bytes was not a concern
Strange that this just started with the last update.
