The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Menus' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

I'm unable to reproduce this locally. Can you try again in Troubleshooting Mode (Firefox menu -> Help > Troubleshoot mode...)
If you're still able to reproduce it in Troubleshoot mode, could you try using mozregression to see when this starting happening for you? https://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/
I do not think this is a menus bug. Since reporting the issue I have had other instances of selecting (mouse selection of text on a browser page) and copying (ctrl-c) where firefox becomes unresponsive. I can't speak to the underlying components involved, but there were no menus invoked during the process.(In reply to Jared Wein [:jaws] (please needinfo? me) from comment #2)

The same problem occurs when starting Firefox in troubleshooting mode. I will try using mozregression.

This sounds like something Niklas was experiencing. Niklas, are you still experiencing it? Do you notice it happening only on right-clicking on the items that Rick highlights in comment 0? If so, I wonder if this is the same thing. Did you end up filing a bug for it? If so, we should maybe dupe this off to it.

Yes this seems to be the same issue I was having. For me, it didn't matter how I copied because it was actually a Windows 11 issue.
Reporter can you try going to Settings > System > Clipboard and toggle the "Suggested actions" off. That fixed the issue for me.
Please see bug 1774285 for more information. Comment 36 originally discusses turning off the Suggested actions feature.

IIRC Jamie found the root cause and the fix is a Windows 11 update making changes to accessibility APIs/consumers, that's making its way out. Jamie, do you know where we could/should dupe this?
