Steps to reproduce:

upload some mails from free, everything is ok , they stayed normal and readable for a day

Actual results:

the next day i checked theses mail and the content has changed, replaced by some add or junk content, totally crushed and useless, no way to read the original (still exist on the primary mailbox or on my phone)

Expected results:

nothing, when you upload a mail it should stay the same for ever like in the previous version of thunderbird

  • Which version of Thunderbird have you seen this on?
  • Pop or Imap account?
  • have you tried "Repair folder" from folder properties (right-click on affected folder)?
  • Can you please try Bug 1777738 Comment 37 and report back with a short comment there, mentioning the number of this bug 1781011?

In the meantime, given your symptoms, let's consider this a duplicate of Bug 1777738 where we're collecting those.
