Details
I'm using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2b)
Gecko/20021016 Build ID: 2002101612.
If I try to load a page in a new tab and this fails because of some reason, the
keyboard navigation is not working while the newly created tab is focused.
Steps to reproduce this:
- Open some tabs
- Tell Mozilla to load http://www.nonexistentdomain.info in a new tab, you'll
get an error message
- Try to use a keyboard shourcut in the newly created tab, it won't work

Build 2002111504, win2000. Confirmed symptoms. Fixed typo in summary.
Additional information: Multiple tabs do not need to be open already to
reproduce this bug. Going to a non-existant domain in a new tab (right-click,
open in new tab) results in an error message saying that the domain doesn't
exist. Clicking "OK" or pressing Enter causes the message to go away.
At this point, the blank tab is in the foreground, and the Mozilla window has
focus. Pressing Ctrl-W, Ctrl-L, Alt-H, and Alt-G produce no results. Oddly
enough, pressing F9 will either show or hide the sidebar, but only once (i.e.
pressing it again produces no results).
Clicking anywhere in the tab causes all keystrokes to start working again. This
shouldn't be necessary, however.

Hello,
I'm not so sure about the duplicate. Maybe the bugs occur out of the same
reason; I can't tell because I don't know how Mozilla handles these shortcuts.
My guess would be that a document object in the active Tab/Window is necessary
to recieve the shourtcuts and handle the keystrokes and because of the page that
hasen't been loaded none exists.
But as I told, this is only a guess and I'd be happy if someone could tell me
more. (Or perhaps some place in the Mozilla source where those shourtcuts are
handled. I haven't dealt with the source code before, but I'd really like to
learn more about it. This would be some good start.)
