It is probably possible to test the Windows native notification COM server added in Bug 1774083. We could:

  • dynamically populate the registry
  • dynamically load the DLL
  • verify that the CLSID needs to match the registry
  • verify that we get an object of the correct interface back
    The COM server is simple enough that I don't think there's a great deal of value in doing this, but it wouldn't take much for that opinion to evolve.
