The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Menus' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

This isn't a Windows bug, because if it was I wouldn't of reported this. This has only started happening since the last update.

It's possible of course that there are 2 serious performance issues affecting copy/paste that have different causes... it just didn't seem particularly likely.
If you don't rely on assistive technology for your browser use (e.g. a screen reader, braille input, etc.) then you could try setting accessibility.force_disabled
to 1
in about:config, and then restarting the browser, and see if that resolves the issue. If it does resolve it, then I'm fairly confident this is the same underlying issue as bug 1774285.
If it isn't resolved by setting that option, the best next step would likely be to obtain a performance profile using the builtin profiler feature - see https://profiler.firefox.com/ , and sharing a link to that here.

Doesn't matter if accessibility.force_disabled is set to 0 or 1, it doesn't make a difference.
No matter what forum I visit, any website link that is coded using
website address
when I double click on the link to highlight it, every now and again the entire window freezes and the only way to fix it is to open another window, then close it and the link is suddenly highlighted, you can then right click on it and open in new tab.

Turns out someone else posted this content as well, now you can clearly see it isnt a Windows bug, I really wish people would do there research instead of just assuming.
