178356 - First character dropped when signature present in compose

When composing a new email, in certain situations the first character entered in
the body of the message is dropped and the cursor jumps to the dashes just
before the first line of the signature file.  This occurs when (1) the body
portion of the message is reached by the tab key rather than the mouse and (2)
there is a signature file present.  When the a signature file is not present,
the first character entered is not lost.

depending on the build you are using, it very like that this is a dup of bug 173818

I see the similarity and had not tried that particular situation and see that I
have the same problem.  I am using 1.2b
