People

(Reporter: ibedregeanu, Unassigned)

Details

From github: https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/focus-android/issues/4266.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Using Firefox Focus, visit https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Element/datalist#Examples (the example section of the <datalist> element's MDN page)
  2. Try to enter some of the datalist options (i.e. "Chrome" or "internet explorer")

Expected behavior

The input should show available matching options in the datalist. Other mobile browsers (Firefox, Chrome) display this as something looking like a dropdown.

Actual behavior

No options are shown

Device information

  • Android device: Moto G5 Plus
  • Android version: 8.1.0
  • Focus version: 8.0.8 (Build #330452036 :lizard: 65.0.20190125143011)

Ionut, can you please take a look at this bug? Since the bug reporter says this works correctly in Fenix, this bug is probably related to how Focus integrates with AC.

I succeed to reproduce this also on GeckoView Example and Firefox Fenix Nightly(latest version), so is not Focus related

(In reply to Ionut Bedregeanu from comment #2)

I succeed to reproduce this also on GeckoView Example and Firefox Fenix Nightly(latest version), so is not Focus related

In that case, we can leave this bug in the GeckoView component. Thanks for confirming. I would have been surprised if this bug only affected Focus!
