Details

In bug 1588081 we started notarizing signed macos builds of geckodriver. However, it is not possible to staple the notarization to the simple geckodriver executable; offline installations will not be able to verify the notarization, which may result in failures. There are effective work-arounds documented at https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/testing/geckodriver/Notarization.html, but I understand this could be more fool-proof if we packaged geckodriver as a .dmg (see discussion in bug 1588081).
