RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1705217

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:103.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/103.0

Steps to reproduce:

Have Firefox open with 1 or more tabs open to various pages, upgrade Firefox, then try to open a new URL. It's replaced by a page telling you to restart Firefox. This means your URL doesn't go into your history and may be lost.

Actual results:

I actually lost my entire browser session due to this. I forgot I had a window in the background and closed the window to restart. Since it wasn't the last window open I lost all my main tabs. I tried ctrl+shift+t to undo but I only got the restart page. The pages couldn't be found in my history either since I hadn't focused most of them in a long time. Even if I had I'd have lost the tab history.

Expected results:

Continue running from memory and permit browsing to continue instead of replacing pages. Show a notification that an update is available similar to Chrome.
