A system crash happened. After reboot both Mozilla and Mozilla mail start up
fine - except it refuses to acknowledge that it was any user profile installed.
If I launch Profile Manager it sees that I have one user profile installed and I
can open it up. Yet, no bookmakrs nothing, no emails, no email accounts, no news
servers. ALL gone.
The user profile still exists under Application Data/Mozilla/Profiles and all
mail / news servers are still there - but Mozilla/Mail simply refuse to see them.
How do I get my mails etc working? The program should automatically see that it
has data saved under the selected user profile, yet it doesn't.
Mozilla seems to have poor protection against fatal system crashes, since I've
lost all bookmarks earlier as well in a system crash. That never happened using
Netscape 4 browser/mail.
Reproducible: Always

Did all bookmarks dissappear or did the default ones re-appear? If yes, then
this is a dupe of bug 164244.

Yes, default bookmarks appeared.
That bug mentioned is only about bookmarks though. I lost also all emails, email
servers etc. The data is there - but Mozilla Mail won't admit it.

Tried fixing with the following two ways, no luck:
1.
>probably you lost the file "registry.dat" which contains all necessary data
>about profiles and paths. If you can't find a backup of this file, there are
>other ways to get your Mozilla back where ist was (I had a similar problem
>already)
Thanks for the suggestion. I looked for the file and it does still exist though,
in the Application Data\Mozilla directory.
2.
> Create a new profile, shut down mozilla completly (including
> quicklaunch) copy all[1] files from the old profile directory to the new
> one. Launch Mozillawith your newprofile, your data should be restored.
> [1] You probably do not want to transfer localstore.rdf and xul.mfl, they

Thanks but no.
Did all exactly as guided.
But Mozilla (Mail) just pops up Account Wizard and offers "New Account Wizard"
to make new email accounts.
