White video while watching Twitch stream with overlay

Yesterday, I noticed that when I watch some (but not all) Twitch streams, the video window is solid white. I think this might be due to overlays somehow (which are implemented with something like cross origin transparent iframes over the video window), so it may be a DOM issue or something, but I'll file it in video playback for now.
I think this is due to overlays because I see it on every Hearthstone stream I've tried (which have an overlay for a deck tracker), but not streams for say Factorio or other games I looked at.
I'll try doing a bisection.

I can't reproduce on a clean profile. I'll try to figure out why that is.

I can reproduce in a private browsing window in my main profile, so it isn't due to being logged in to Twitch normally.

I use dark mode, so from reading over the bug this got duped to, that was probably the reason a default profile wasn't seeing this issue but my regular one was.
