Details

Description: When you single click on the URL Bar, Mozilla highlights the entire url. You should be able to highlight any portion of that URL without having to first deselect the address. Example: You browse to "http://www.mysite.com/dir/subdir/page.php?topic=value" and after reading the content on that page, you want to jump back to the subdir, but there is no direct link on the page. After a single click in the URL Bar to highlight it, you have to click again to deselect, before you can select via a drag of the mouse. This behavior is not optimal. In Internet Explorer, you can drag at any time in the address bar. For users switching from IE to Mozilla, this behavior is annoying and confusing, and is a step backwards in usability.
the problem is that "click + move to select" starts a drag instead of starting a new selection. Dup of bug 87410. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 87410 ***
