User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:106.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/106.0

Steps to reproduce:

At last I find a way to reproduce bug :
1- Open a new profile
2- Change your Settings to LIGHT Theme under Website appearance part
3- Open for example https://www.twitch.tv/nikolarn
4- Everything working perfect
5- Change your Settings to DARK Theme under Website appearance part
6- TADA 🎉 🎉 Now completely white layered Video [you couldnt see video]

This is proof :
https://vimeo.com/745762840

Actual results:

The video completely turns to White but it is still playing like under a white layer because its sound is coming without any problem and whenever you pause and try to continue for a just 2 sec you can see the actual video under that white layer then again turns white again

Expected results:

Should work without any problem

I can confirm that the issue is reproducible on Nightly, but not on Firefox Release. The issue is indeed reproducible when accessing the stream directly with the "Dark Theme" option enabled from the browser, or by switching the theme from Dark to Light/System Theme/Nightly Theme:

Tested with:

Browser / Version: Firefox Release 104.0 (64-bit)/ Firefox Nightly 106.0a1 (2022-09-01) (64-bit) /Chrome Version Version 104.0.5112.102 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Operating System: Windows 10 PRO x64

Notes:

  1. Reproducible regardless of the status of ETP.
  2. Reproducible on the latest build of Firefox Nightly
  3. Works as expected using Chrome and Release.

Since the status is marked as affected for nightly and as unaffected for release, is it affected or unaffected for beta?

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Audio/Video: Playback' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Audio/Video: Playback
Product: Firefox → Core

URL: https://www.twitch.tv/shivfps

Workaround: Channels such as "ShivFPS" or anyone with overlays on their screen such as the "Prime Subscription and Loot Reminder" or "Companion of the Lamb" causes videos to display a white blank screen. What fixes it is disabling the visible button inside the extension overlay.

@Allice0775 are you sure both bugs are same ? Because this might be different than what it is in 1787127
[because this only happens on videos not other parts of iframes]

@alice0775 thx for reopening and removing duplicate tag

btw 105 ( beta ) doesnt affected from this bug , so we can mark firefox105 as unaffected

Pretty sure it's the same. Should be fixed in the next nightly.
