User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:104.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/104.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Enable hardware acceleration in Firefox options.
  2. Restart Firefox.
  3. Play a video on Facebook or Youtube, for example : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsX3tUA-wJk ; image in video is trembling.
  4. Disable Enable hardware acceleration in Firefox options.
  5. Restart Firefox.
  6. Play the same video; video plays fine.

Notes :
a) on the same machine, the same videos are working just fine on Chrome v105 with hardware acceleration enabled.
b) I don't remember having ever experienced this issue in Firefox before.

Actual results:

Image in video is trembling, from the beginning of the video to the end. Pausing, restart does not make it go away

Expected results:

No trembling in the video image.

What do you mean by trembling exactly? Maybe you can post a screenshot or video of the problem happening?

In reference to the video I attached.
Looking at the screwdriver in the lower right corner, the shaking / trembling is evident.

Found some additional weirdness to the bug.

I was requested a video to demonstrate, so I launch OBS Studio while the Youtube video is playing. And for some inexplicable reason, the trembling stops as soon as I have a capture active and visible in OBS Studio.
Then as soon as I toggle the capture to invisible, the trembling in the video inside the Firefox window comes back !
I can flip that toggle back and forth in OBS on my 2nd screen, as the Youtube video is playing inside Firefox on my primary screen, and I get trembling ON and trembling OFF in Firefox in perfect sync with the toggling !

Oh and I forgot to mention.. not being able to actually record the bug in OBS, because it goes away when the capture is on (lol!), I had to resort to using my phone. Hence the crappy picture.
