When a page with a form is opened to a popup window (with JavaScript window.open()), Chimera is unable to select all text (either with the Edit menu command or through Cmd-A) of any text field on that page. Even if the focus is in a text field, the surrounding text will always be selected instead. There seems to be some problem with copy-pasting, too (= can't always paste text into a field). There are no problems if the same page is opened to a new window with "target" parameter instead of using JavaScript. I have posted a minimal test page at the attached URL. Tested against Build ID 2002110704.
WorksForMe using Chimera/2002110804 on 10.1.5.
Summary: Can't "Select All" in a form field in a popup window → Can't "Select All" in a form field in a pop-up window
Greg I think what he means is the contents of the Form FIELD not the page contents. I can reproduce what he describes Build 1109 OS X 10.2.1. Can't select the text IN the field if NO target. OK if target.
With focus _in the text field_, command+a selected all the text therein in both cases for me.
Additional info on this... Everything works ok in the latest stable release, Chimera 0.6.0 (Build ID 2002110415), but not in the nightlies. So, it seems that this bug was introduced after November 4th. I'm also using Mac OS X 10.2.1.
I confirm I can't select if NO target. It work on bugzilla page but on the url visakopu the 2 tests cases are not-working/working as reported. Build 1109 - OS X 10.2.2.
