RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1784692

People

(Reporter: hal, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.14; rv:105.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/105.0

Steps to reproduce:

Start firefox with my usual home page

Actual results:

Home page opened normally, but url is selected as if I had clicked on it

Expected results:

No automatic selection. The automatic selection means that keyboard shortcuts for scrolling through the home page no longer work without extra mouse clicking to unselect the home page url. There does not appear to even be a keyboard shortcut like esc to unselect the url.

Fixes needed: (1) revert to the previous initial page behavior, or at least provide a very conspicuous option to select the previous behavior.

(2) Fix development standards and procedures to never change the user interface like this without extremely visible notification of the new change and instructions for how to disable it if not desired.

Thanks for the report. This change will be reverted in the 105.0.1 release shipping soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.
