User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:104.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/104.0

Steps to reproduce:

It would be useful to more easily allow profile changes in Firefox. The official guide to managing profiles requires the use of about:profiles in the URL bar, which isn't particularly convenient.

In comparison, Chrome and Edge have a profile manager built into their Account button on the toolbar. Firefox has an account button as well, but it's mainly used to manage what devices are logged into a Firefox account, not to manage users on the current device.

I would like to see a new entry in the "Firefox Account" dropdown (for feature parity and familiarity, since that's where the other browsers put it) that opens the profile manager (much like how the settings button opens about:preferences - literally just a button that loads the URL) so I can change users on my device.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Toolkit::Startup and Profile System' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Startup and Profile System
Product: Firefox → Toolkit

Right now we don't expose profiles to users precisely because they aren't a good experience. we've been considering changes there but I don't think at this time it makes sense to just add a button to get to the existing bad experience.
