User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:105.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/105.0
Steps to reproduce:
1 clear all history
2 in the url field enter https://thefirstlook.com/
3 hit enter
4 make a bookmark
5 clear all history
6 click on a new tab
7 in the url field enter thefirst
8 hit Ctrl+Enter on your keyboard
9 (it fills in thefirstlook but when you have not finished typing that and you just want to goto the shorter url (https://www.thefirst.com)
Actual results:
It brought me to https://thefirstlook.com/
Expected results:
It should have brought me to https://www.thefirst.com
But if you do it again after you click on the end of the url field and type it again it works correctly till you clear the history then it won’t work.

It doesn't look like a security bug, removing flag to make it visible to more people.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Address Bar' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

I can't reproduce this. When I hit Ctrl+Enter in step 8, Firefox loads https://www.thefirst.com/. Are you leaving any steps out?
you need to clear everything after you have made the first bookmark "https://thefirstlook.com/"
press Ctrl+shift+del check off everything press ok then open a new tab and type the shorter url "thefirst"
it will autofill in the longer url but just press ctrl+enter after the second t that you typed in "thefirst"
it will send you to the longer url name bookmark that you created before. which it should not
but if you repeat it or click on the url field and type it again it will work correctly. and take you to the shorter url name.
you must have not cleared you history or data. try it again just remember to clear everything then open a new tab.
Mike
oh and make sure you don't have any other tabs open when you clear you history with the ctrl+shift+del or even better press the + for a new tab and close all tabs other tabs and then clear the history and data with ctrl+shift+del. and press ok after type "thefirst" and press ctrl+enter
you may want to print this out first.

OK, I could reproduce this after trying several more times. It's intermittent. No errors in the browser console. Needs investigation.
