Details

(Whiteboard: [fidefe-2022-mr1-firefox-view])

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:106.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/106.0

Steps to reproduce:

Click the FireFox-View button lop left hand corner of the screen.

Actual results:

There is a page displayed that shows Recently Closed Tabs list.

Expected results:

If the settings "always use private browsing mode" is enabled, there should be no trace of tabs opened or closed stored, shouldn't this be considered as browser history? otherwise the history is leaking this way.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Session Restore' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Session Restore

These recently closed tabs were/are / have been accessible for a long time using History > Recently Closed Tabs. History is also temporarily accessible in e.g. the back button dropdowns when navigating between pages in the same tab..

As a result, I don't think this is a bug.
