The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

That seems like sway crashed somehow? Could you attach a WAYLAND_DEBUG=1 log?
Here's the log.
If sway is crashing then it's in a way that isn't affecting other processes.

Can you create screencast of the issue? Where do you paste it? To some web page or?
Also please test latest nightly:

Thanks.

Here's the screencapture.
It crashes when dropping on an empty tab or on a file upload site. It doesn't do it 100% reliably. E.g. when dropping on an empty tab it sometimes does open the file:/// url and display the image and sometimes it crashes.
Doing a few attempts on the google image search seems to work.

Looks like Sway only. Please report at Sway bug tracker.

(The 8472 from bug 1834589 comment 9)
bug 1743144 might happen under highest system load and only when having very bad luck.
It happens more often under sway (see bug 1792754). iiuc that's because it doesn't implement workarounds for stalled clients that some other compositors have.
