User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:105.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/105.0

Steps to reproduce:

I did a factory reset onto my laptop and redownloaded mozilla.

Actual results:

None of my passwords from my phone are syncing with my browser and my browser can't create new saved logins.

Expected results:

A successful sync of logins between two devices.

Sorry you are having this problem - do you have a "primary password" set in Firefox? I suspect you don't, but would like to check.

I do not have a master password.

The fact this is happening on a newly reset Windows is very odd - it often means something in the profile has become corrupt, but that seems unlikely on a brand-new profile? Did you set any preferences using about:config from any guids on the Internet? (Some of them are misguided and disable important functionality, including the login store).

Otherwise I'm afraid I don't have any real advice other than to try deleting a few files in your profile, but that's quite advanced and not something that we should undertake lightly.

I did not use any guides during installment. Used Microsoft Edge to download Mozilla, then downloaded everything else that I wanted from there. (Adobe, Discord, ect.)

:skhamis, could you have a look please?

Adding the Qa-not-actionable tag here, this is such a unique issue there is not much we can do on the QA side, we tried syncing our accounts on new devices or fresh profiles but we didnt encounter the above mentioned issue.

QA Whiteboard: [qa-not-actionable]
Summary: sync errors → Services.logins is broken, thinking the primary password is locked even though it's not configured.

Some additional steps regarding bug 1868581 as that bug is closed for me.

You can use the About Sync extension to check what data is stored on the Sync server via the about:sync page provided by this extension.
About Sync https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/about-sync/
You may have to close and restart Firefox to make about:sync get added about:about.

If Firefox logs in automatically, then signedInUser.json could be causing this.
I don't know whether it is safe to rename the weave folder and clear some sync prefs via about:config to reset all Sync settings.

You can also check logins.json in a text editor or in a Firefox tab to see if there are unusual key/value pairs.
As always, make sure to keep a backup of all files you modify.

You need to log in before you can comment on or make changes to this bug.
