In a Chrome to Chrome call Google Meet uses VP9 however in a Chrome to Firefox call Google Meet uses VP8.
We should figure out why.
VP9 decoding is much more likely to be hardware accelerated. So all things being equal, that seems like a reason to prefer it.

I am still seeing this today with Firefox 135; particularly worrying given that Firefox reports via about:support that vp9 has hardware support but vp8 does not, so any Google Meet video calls absolutely melt my CPU.

Still seems happening, is not there any way to force vp9 usage?
