Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:105.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/105.0

Steps to reproduce:

Go to about:preferences#general and set Website appearance to Dark .

Actual results:

https://www.newegg.com/ loads in light mode.

You have to manually click on the icon at the top right corner of the page to enable the dark theme, which sets a simple cookie. Users who have configured Firefox to delete cookies automatically have to keep doing this again every time they open Newegg.

Expected results:

Please reach out to Newegg to ask it to respect prefers-color-scheme.

We appreciate your report. I was able to reproduce the issue.

Tested with:

Browser / Version: Firefox Release 108.0.2 (64-bit)/ Firefox Nightly 110.0a1 (2023-01-11) (64-bit) /Chrome Version 109.0.5414.75 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Operating System: Windows 10 PRO x64
Operating System: Mac OSX Catalina 10.15.7
Operating System: Ubuntu 20.4 LTS x64

Notes:

  1. Reproducible regardless of the status of ETP.
  2. Reproducible on the latest build of Firefox Nightly and Release.
  3. Works as expected using Chrome.
