User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:105.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/105.0
Steps to reproduce:
Nothing. I was using another program. Firefox was streaming a Youtube music video, Nyarlathotep III by Cryo Chamber. There were several more videos in a queue before the crash. After restart the queue, of course, was gone. This may be the second or third time this has happened in a month or so.
Actual results:
Firefox quit suddenly with no error message. On restarting, I was signed out of Youtube. Cache was cleared. All cookies that had contained passwords were still instant, but had all been reset simultaneously to erase the passwords.
Expected results:
Firefox should have continued playing the music video in the background.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Audio/Video: Playback' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hi Kurt, thanks for the report! Would you be able to visit about:crashes
, submit the crash report, and paste the link here? If you could post the contents of your about:support
that would be helpful as well. Also, if you have a way to consistently reproduce the crash, please share the steps required to do so. Thanks!

about:crashes:
No crash reports have been submitted.
about:support:
See above: raw data and text attached.
I know of no way to reproduce the crash at will. It is unpredictable and occurs regardless of whether Firefox is in or out of focus. I suggest putting several hour-long Psychill videos into a queue and letting them play.
Further information. Windows 10 x64, MSI GT72S 6QE laptop. Other program being used when crash occurred: Pysol Fan Club Edition.
Thanks for your continued assistance.

The component has been changed since the backlog priority was decided, so we're resetting it.

Could you explain what this means?

Look at the attached screen capture that I uploaded previously. You will see in the list of Foxfire cookies many that are dated exactly the same. That is the date and time of the crash. All of those are site cookies that used to contain passwords to log into those sites. The cookies were reset so that the passwords were erased, but the cookies remain. Understand?

I should clarify that some of the reset cookies contained passwords, while others only contained user name. It depends on the site. Banking, for instance, never stores passwords. Hulu streaming service stores password. Either way, I will have to reenter all my information the next time I access those sites, as I was logged out completely by whatever instigated the crash.

From what I can tell we don't have enough information on this to debug this. Is it still happening?

No, the problem is not still happening. Please close the issue. How is this still open after two years? It is a puzzlement.
