User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 In AB, when editing an exiting mailing list, or creating a new mailing list, a modal window is created. Because the new/edit mailing list window is modal to the AB, it is not possible to open another mailing list and copy and paste members, or create new contacts whilst editing a mailing list. I found 128169 which is an open bug - new/edit mailing list should be modal to AB. This appears to be the current situation in both my machines (Win2k and Linux i686 running 1.2b 20021016). The ideal situation would be to create non-modal mailing list windows so that the functionality is similar to outlook where multiple mailing list cards can be opened and contacts edited at the same time. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open AB 2. New List 3. Attempt to create a contact whilst the edit list window is open, or open another list to copy and paste members from Actual Results: It does not work because the new list is a modal window. Expected Results: The new mailing list window should not have been modal, and should have allowed the user to open additional address cards or mailing lists so that details can be cut and paste from other cards or lists.
I would like to bump up this bug as well. The modal nature of the list makes it impossible to cut a list from a text document and paste it in as a mailing list, as was possible in Netscape 4.
isn't this a dup of bug 135126?
