Original Comment:
"Clone This Bug" links no longer work as expected
Downstream bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=460396 triager recommended this problem be taken here.
To reproduce:
1-click on a "Clone This Bug" link, e.g. https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?cloned_bug_id=385135 on https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385135
Actual behavior:
1-opens "First, you must pick a classification on which to enter a bug:" page https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?cloned_bug_id=385135
2-no logical selection (e.g. Frameworks and Libraries: or Plasma:) leads to a form from which plasmashell can be selected
3-neither plasmashell nor multi-screen support is selectable as product/component, as there are no form fields to fill before divining which selection might be an appropriate choice
Expected behavior:
1-enter bug page opens
2-summary is pre-filled
3-product "plasmashell" is preselected
4-component "Multi-screen support" is preselected
5-all relevant else not needing change is pre-selected/pre-filled
6-comment/description has been filled with comment #0 from bug to clone from
I tried several of the selections on the "First, you must pick a classification on which to enter a bug: page." https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?classification=__all None produced an expected way forward for a Bugzilla & KDE user of more than two decades.
What lead to this was I was trying to use ancient KDE bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94611 as a pseudo template to file a bug against kdelibs/kdecore, which is what bug 94611 was about and similar to the behavior I was encountering against current product. Downstream closed 460396 "intentional", which makes the "Clone This Bug" links virtually useless.
https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/ presents apparent same problem. Clicking "Clone This Bug" link (e.g. on https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1204334) requires manual selection on two separate pages before an enter_bug.cgi page opens with form fields pre-filled and empty ones to fill. Unless the correct product and component fields were correctly divined to get there, the pre-filled select-list entries cannot be corrected - correct ones aren't there to select.
