User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:106.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/106.0
Steps to reproduce:
- open sidebar using ctrl + b
- scroll down to desired position (I have many bookmarks in nested folders).
- show history using ctrl + h
- go back to bookmakrs using ctrl + b
Actual results:
previous vertical position in bookmarks window in not remembered
Expected results:
previuos vertical bookmark position shouls have been remembered.
It should also remember position for other sidebar views, like history.
maybe it should also work for sidebar views created by third party addons.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Bookmarks & History' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

I couldn't manage to reproduce this issue on my end, all the opened nested folders from bookmarks are displayed like before switching to history and back again to bookmarks.
Could you please try if the issue occurs in safe mode. Here is a link that can help you do that:

Thanks.

Tested in troubleshoot mode, and it is still happening.
I have tried on a different computer and it happens there too.
BTW it also happens by simply opening bookmarks sidebar (with ctrl + b) then closing it and then reopening it.
It's not needed to open history sidebar.

Could you please provide a screenshot with the before and after opening/closing bookmarks sidebar?

(In reply to Hani Yacoub from comment #2)
all the opened nested folders from bookmarks are displayed like before switching to history and back again to bookmarks.
I'm talking about the vertical bar scroll position in the sidebar, not the opened/closed nester folders (which is working fine).

We retain the open/closed state of containers, we don't retain the scrolling position, nor selection IIRC.
I'm not sure it makes sense to retain the position though, because between sessions bookmarks may change even largely and then it doesn't mean much
Maybe we should remember the first visible bookmark and scroll to it? Though even the position of that bookmark may change.
Not sure which reference point we should take, confirming as enhancement but it requires more thinking.
