RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1802316

People

(Reporter: juergenmenge, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:106.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/106.0

Steps to reproduce:

Open calendar tab for the week.
Click in the all day events area to create an all day event.
The date for this event is not set to the correct day (where I clicked into).
I have to change the date in the dialogue to get the correct day.

Actual results:

If I don't change the date the event will be created for the wrong day.

Expected results:

The date should be set to the day I clicked into.

Works for me on daily.

It sets the date for an all day event to the date of the day where I was creating/editing events before.

I have removed all add-ons and issue is till there. The same behaviour at a second installation of Thunderbird.
It's really annoying. I can show the incorrect behaviour if required.

Why does nobody cares?
The issue still exists in the latest update 102.10.0.
On daily it will always work because the context is set exactly by the choice of one day. I normally use the 7-days-view. And there it does not work.

Can't reproduce this bug no matter what I try, without detailed steps to reproduce we can't fix it even if we wanted to. There are a lot of weird UI bugs with the Calendar UI and it's going to be rewritten substantially over the next year, so it's possible this will be fixed by that at some point.

Have you tried Beta and/or Daily?

I havn't tried Beta or Daily. I'm using TBSync in my daily work and doubt that it will work when going to a newer version.
Is there a way to show the incorrect behaviour by using teamviewer/anydesk/zoom or something else?

The issue still exists (115.3.1).
I have changed my approach by creating an event in the timeline of the week calender and check the checkbos for the all-day-event.
But it should set the date correctly also if I create the event in the all-day-pane.
